After Akufo-Addo’s election declaration as president-elect, the opposition Democratic National Congress, NDC, took to the streets to express their discontent.
The protest continued for some time until the NDC decided to go to court with the approval of its National Executive Council.
The election petition lawsuit that was filed on behalf of his lawyers listed some allegations that would be critically examined if the case continues.
In his complaint filed by his lawyers, John Mahama indicated that he would rely on five witnesses for his petition.
Good Evening Ghana host Paul Adom-Otchere made some guesses about the five people likely to be used as witnesses by John Dramani Mahama during his election petition hearing at the Supreme Court.
As monitored by YEN.com.gh In the Tuesday, Jan.5, 2021 edition of his show, Adom-Otchere named Asiedu Nketia, Haruna Iddrisu, Dr Kpessa Whyte, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong and Rojo Mettle Nunoo as possible witnesses in the election petition case.
Adom Otchere is certain that since Asiedu is the secretary general and has given more interviews on the petition, he was certainly going to witness the case.
He is convinced that Haruna Iddrisu as the leader of the minority interested in the parliamentary situation, in particular the Techiman South affair, would make a perfect cut for Mahama’s witnesses.
The host of the show also believes that Dr Kpessa Whyte is important to the process as he was in the EC vault where the collation and signatories were made as was Rojo.
Adom-Otchere also made similar comments to Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong when explaining why they would be on the witness list.

In other news, the Supreme Court overturned the interim injunction placed on the release of election results of the Hohoe parliamentary results showing Peter Amewu as the winner.
A five-member panel of the Supreme Court overturned Ho’s High Court ruling to bar Peter Amewu from running as the elected member of the Hohoe constituency.
By this, Peter Amewu can freely go to parliament and would be sworn in in the eighth parliament of the Fourth Republic to represent his constituency.
