Adrian Durham calls Tottenham Hotspur supporters "deceived and wrong" when discussing the future of Toby Alderweireld

Adrian Durham called the fans of Tottenham Hotspur "false and misleading" when he spoke about the future of Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian international is out of contract in North London and has been linked to a move to Manchester United while the Spurs are considering taking advantage of it.

The value of Aldeweireld is set at Sky Rocket after its £ 25 million release clause expired at midnight on Friday morning.

There are only two weeks left in the transfer window, which means that the Spurs are no longer contractually obliged to sell the Belgian at a favorable price.

But Durham believes the former defender of Southampton would not justify a high fee and explained why, in his opinion, the back center is overestimated.

"It's because it's not good enough, it's as simple as that," Durham told Drivetime.

"He is also 30 years old. If he's going anywhere, he'll want a big contract. Nobody will want to pay him those big salaries in the long run.

"Because he is not at an age when he will be effective for a big club in Europe.

"So, the best he can hope for is a bit like [Wilfried] Zaha; go to Arsenal or go to Everton. He would not have been in one of the best clubs in Europe.

"They were lucky, it's not like they did not know it, they know it very well, but he's 30 and he's OK!
