Asamoah Gyan Ske Gyan played in 7 AFCON

Asamoah Gyan, captain general of the Black Stars, pointed out that Ghana did not deserve to leave the tournament of the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 (AFCON) to the round of 32.

Ghana sadly disappointed in this year's continental showdown after a 5-4 defeat at Tunisian Carthage Eagles on Monday night at Ismailia Stadium.

Speaking to reporters after the defeat, the veteran striker said his team was saddened by his premature exit from the tournament, especially after he managed to qualify for all semifinals of the last 8 editions.

According to Gyan, the team played very well that day and did not deserve to be eliminated in the round of 16.

"In the last eight years we have been to the semi-finals and it's a pity we were eliminated so early. We are sad. We do not deserve that, but it's football. "

"The host country has come home and football is for you. There were so many countries that were underestimated, but now people have to respect football. We can not underestimate any country because everyone is progressing in football, "said the Kayserispor striker.

Ghana has failed to win the continental trophy for 37 years. The last time they conquered the continent, it was in 1982, when the tournament was organized in Libya.
