Steve Mounie says Group F will be difficult
Beninese international Steve Mounie said he was delighted with the return of his country to the Nations Cup, but described the group F as a difficult group.
Squirrels were drawn against Cameroon, Ghana four times and Guinea Bissau.
Benin starts its campaign against the Ghana Black Stars and the Huddersfield striker hopes for a first victory.
"If we get our first victory, it will be historic – so win a game first, try to go through the groups and we'll see what happens," he told BBC Sport.
"To be honest, it's a tough group, we have to seize our chance, do our best on the field and be proud of our country, make Beninese proud."
West Africans are looking for their first Nations Cup victory after a draw and eight losses.
After playing against Ghana, Benin will face Guinea Bissau in their second match before engaging champion Cameoon in the final group match.
