Afcon Select Black Satellites Black Satellites defeated by Junior Teranga Lions of Senegal

Senegal's Teranga Lions juniors sparked Ghana's hopes of easily qualifying for the 2019 U20 World Cup 2019 in Poland with a score of 2-0.

The Black Satellites are now struggling to qualify because they need to beat or draw against Mali, a team they lost twice to the under-17 level in 2017.

Ghana started the Group B game badly with the pair of central defensive skipper Ishaku Konda Gideon Mensah, obviously at sea.

Senegal took only ten minutes to punish the Black Satellites, a centrally centered center on the right was beautifully directed to the left corner of the post by Youssouph Badji.

Ghana strengthened their game with a superb performance by Mohammed Kudus, who scored two solo runs in the 25th and 30th minutes, but his efforts missed the target very closely.

Just two minutes from the end of the first half, Badji scored two goals for his team after overtaking Mensah and Konda.

The second half started brilliantly, Ghana slightly ahead, but unable to find the edge, the striker Daniel Lomotey having decided to play a "9 standing".

Ghana could have reduced the deficit in the 65th minute, but Lomotey's attack was off target after playing.

Coach Jimmy Cobblah hired Ibrahim Sadiq for Emmanuel Toku in the 75th minute as Cheetah FC's winger struggled to pbad beyond Senegal's hands. The change brought some urgency in the match for Ghana. The Senegalese remained resolute and kept their 2-0 win.

Senegal has now qualified for the World Cup in Poland and the semifinals of the CAN with a game to lose.
