Ahamadonko, (C / R), June 6, GNA – The Municipal Agona West
The Assembly launched an aggressive awareness campaign in the municipality
build more than 2,000 latrine households in the municipality to reduce
problem of defecation in the open air.
The Assembly collaborates with UNICEF
and Community Water and Sanitation Agency for household construction
latrines in all towns and villages.

The executive of Agona West made it known during separate outreach programs
to educate residents in Ahamadonko.
The MCE was accompanied by Mr. George
Freeman, Municipal Chief of Environmental Health and Sanitation, Mr. Emmanuel Ampong,
Municipal Assistant for the Environment and Sanitation, as well as
officials of the Assembly.
Other visited communities included
Adwendaho, Adwenambantem, Beposo and Gyarmanfom.
The MCE reminded the communities that it was
an offense of defecating in the open and appealing to the leaders, members of the Assembly,
Unit committees and opinion leaders to support the exercise to succeed.
She said that the exercise had been intensified
and hoped that the municipality would soon be declared "open defecation"
avoid cholera and other communicable diseases that affect productivity.
Ms. Assan said unhealthy conditions with
its diseases, including cholera, have cost Ghana millions of Cedis and that
funds could be used in development projects to raise the level
to love Ghanaians.
He said that sanitation was a shared
responsibility and asked residents to ensure that sound environmental practices
avoid epidemics.
