The board of directors of the University of Education Winnneba at would have reinstated three speakers whose bag would have triggered a student demonstration leading to the closure of the university.
Effutu MP Alexander Ayenyo Markin told Joy News Thursday that "immediate reinstatement" was part of a agreement with the Board of Governors and a delegation from the Ministry of Education.
According to him, he was delegated with Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, to talk to disaffected factions of the decision to sack the director of the College of Languages Education in Ajumako, Professor Ephraim Avea Nsoh; Mr. Frimpong Kakyire Duku, President of the Association of University Teachers of Ghana (UTAG), and Mr. Emmanuel Osei Sarpong, Alumni Representative on the University Council.
They were fired for reasons that were criticized for their fragility, injustice and vindictiveness.
The President at the induction ceremony urged Professor Anthony Afful Broni, to build bridges of reconciliation.
According to the UTAG, the vice-chancellor reverend. Professor Anthony Afful-Broni embarked on an exhausting frenzy, eliminating critics and dissenters after being sworn in as vice chancellor in March 2018 after a period of unrest within the university.
The university was closed Thursday after students continued the third day of their protest, this time with violence.

Afenyo Markins said the decision to reinstate the speakers also included workers fired or dismissed by the Vice Chancellor, who is also a Catholic priest.
At least 30 teachers and non-teaching staff have been dismissed since Professor Afful-Broni took office.
The member for Effutu said that the decision of the board of directors of the University would be officially communicated to the public.
"I do not doubt that it will be done," he said.
In the meantime, the two-person delegation has since faded away around the campus with UTAG leaders to inform the three main officials as well as the students.
"They were happy," he told Joy FM on Thursday.
"At the end of the day, we took steps to address the injustices and victimization we talked about," he said.
The MP of the NPP, accused of having been too intrusive in UEW's policy since his party took power in 2017, said that he was withdrawing his call for the resignation of the vice-chancellor.
The calls were also made by the students and UTAG.
