The new enhancement is in addition to the company's "A-Health Plus" package, allowing subscribers to claim up to RMB 1,500 per year for psychiatric consultations in private or public hospitals.

As reported by Malay Mail, the list of conditions covered by the plan includes major depressive disorder, postpartum depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and Tourette's syndrome.
Heng Zee Wang, marketing director of AIA Bhd, said:
"Mental health remains a challenge for the public and the health sector due to lack of data and understanding. While there is still much to be done, the AIA is happy to do everything in its power to advance the needle. One of the first steps we thought we could tackle was the search for treatment, and one of the first barriers to mental health recovery. "
This product expansion was carried out after the Ministry of Health encouraged insurance companies to cover mental illnesses in addition to physical illnesses.
