PARIS : The chief of European aircraft manufacturer Airbus on Saturday called for a “ceasefire” in a trade war with the United States over aircraft subsidies, which has led to billions of dollars in tariffs on airplanes and other cargo.

In an interview with France Inter radio, Director General Guillaume Faury also urged European countries to ease border restrictions that crippled air travel across the continent during the coronavirus crisis.
