AirPlay is working on the new Apple TV streaming from an iPad. It works very well in the Apple and YouTube video app, but I can only get audio in iTunes – the video does not work.
When I select the AirPlay pop-up, it displays a speaker icon for AppleTV – and not the normal screen icon. The audio streams are correct, but the video will not play. Perplexed.
UPDATE: Audio is also available only in Netflix.
UPDATE 2: It seems that video playback is disabled in some apps, including iTunes on iOS devices, which is more of a showcase than a multimedia app. Videos purchased via iTunes and played via the iPod application on an iPhone (and the Videos app on an iPad) work properly. Jason Snell from Macworld had the same experience.
