Vice Minister of Commerce and Industries Carlos Ahenkorah advised business owners to consider mergers and acquisitions as a way to end their difficulties.

"It is very unfortunate that when many companies do not know very well that their only solution is to merge with a stronger partner or make themselves available to be acquired, they will instead see their business die," Ahenkorah said.

Mr. Ahenkorah added: "When a company is struggling, it is not exempt from taxes, but when it merges with another company, these taxes are shared among them." Instead of paying, they are considered as one company and pay taxes as such, relieving all the tax stress of both companies. "

He launched the call at the launch of AirtelTigo Business in Accra last Friday.

AirteTigo Business

AirtelTigo Business is a business initiative that will help address the communication needs of businesses and find ways to help small businesses succeed.

Ms. Mitwa Kaemba Ng'ambi, President and CEO of the company, said that the way business was changing has been transformed and that it was therefore necessary for companies to adapt to the new trend in order to meet the growing demands of their customers.

Ng'ambi said emerging companies were key drivers of the growth of the economy and needed support.

"When such businesses thrive, it helps to improve the economy. If they do not get the support they need and if they collapse, it will greatly affect the economy, "she said.

She explained that this was the reason why the company had created the AirtelTigo group to work with its business partners to ensure that the provision of mobile plans for the company's staff, the hosting of data centers or servers, the connection of offices, among others, did not become a challenge. .

Ms. Ethel Anamoo, commercial director of the company, also announced that she will introduce with SMEs a new mobile solution called Flexi Business.

She added that Flexi Business does not have expiration data transfer for SMBs and that it will provide 40% data and 30% more on calls and other mobile plans.

Ms. Anamoo advised new businesses to partner with AirtelTigo Business to enable them to meet the growing demands of their customers.
