Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored a hat-trick but will likely not start against Juventus

Ajax is well prepared for its Champions League match with Juventus with a landslide victory over Excelsior at Eredivisie, although Frenkie de Jong has injured his hamstrings.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, 35, became the oldest hat striker Eredivisie in Ajax with a hat-trick while he had three points ahead on the PSV at the top.

Dusan Tadic scored twice, Kasper Dolberg adding a sixth.

Mounir El Hamdaoui and Jeffry Fortes scored for Excelsior in trouble.

Ajax is visiting Italian champions Juve on Tuesday in the quarter-finals after a 1-1 draw last week at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Coach Erik ten Hag said he was not sure if key midfielder De Jong would be fit for the second leg after suffering a first-half injury against Excelsior.

With his double on Saturday, Tadic is the first Ajax player to have scored eight consecutive goals at home club Eredivisie since Jari Litmanen in 1994.
