The South Akatsi Municipal Assembly in the Volta region has recorded two cases of covid 19.
This was revealed to ModernGhana news by Dr George Nyarko, City Manager of South Akatsi Health Services.
According to him, the health directorate received about 14 samples which they sent to Ho for analysis.
Dr Nyarko later confirmed that samples were taken from all detainees as well as all police officers at Akatsi South Municipal Police Station.
He said tests confirmed the result of both positive cases.
Dr Nyarko also revealed that the two people who tested positive are in isolation in the Akatsi South Municipal Police Cell and are in good condition to respond to treatment.
He also urged the general public to exercise caution and observe national protocols as the second wave has taken on a different dimension.
He explained that sample collection and testing will continue as planned to help curb the spread of the virus.
He also encouraged everyone to stay calm as the health department works around the clock to help mitigate the spread of the virus.
