President Akufo-Addo sided with the country’s civil society organizations (CSOs) in calling for the revision of parts of the 1992 constitution.
This was revealed during a meeting between the president and members of the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition at Jubilee House.
IMANI Africa Vice President Kofi Bentil, who revealed this to reporters, said: “After 30 years of operation of the 1992 constitution, it brought political stability to the country, but what is needed now, it is development, which is why certain aspects of the constitution need to be revised. ”.
He added that there were suggestions on how some well-established positions could be handled.
“There was an agreement that there must be a discussion so that we obtain the political value of the aspects of the constitution which will have to be reviewed,” he stressed.
He hopes that the agreement between them and the president can be followed to strengthen socio-economic development.
