Akufo-Addo apologizes to people with disabilities for his comment "deaf" "blind"

President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo Dankwa apologized to people with disabilities for her commentary on people with visual and hearing impairments.

The comment was, however, condemned by the Federation of Disabled People's Organizations of Ghana.

In apologies on Facebook, President Akufo-Addo called the comment a "political metaphor", saying it was not meant to hurt people with disabilities.

"With respect to the comments I made at the last rally before the by-election at Ayawaso West Wuogon, I am pleased that the Federation of Disabled People's Organizations of Ghana recognizes that 39, it was a "political metaphor". I did not intend to denigrate people with disabilities, I would never do it and hope that they know it … I apologize for any unintentional breach of the " political metaphor ".
