President Akufo-Addo, following the recommendations of the Public Service Commission, appointed Professor Samuel Kobina Annim as the new government statistician.

The appointment of Professor Annim was contained in a letter signed by the Director of Administration, Kwadwo Asante-Mensah.

According to the letter, the professor badumes his duties as of March 1, 2019, after being a statistician and badociate professor of economics for more than 18 years at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

According to a Ghanaiantimes.com.gh report, the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) leadership urged the public to give him the necessary courtesies during his tenure.
