Akufo-Addo appoints MMDCEs for new assemblies

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed the new Directors General of six Municipal and District Assemblies.

The appointments were in accordance with Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Article 20 (1) of the Local Government Act, Law 936.

The nominations were contained in a statement by Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hajia Alima Mahama on Wednesday, March 13.

The candidates are Mariama Amui for the Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly, Nii Adjei Tawiah for the Korley-Klottey Municipal Assembly and Alhaji Mohammed Quaye for the Central Ayawaso Municipal Assembly. .

The others are Asare Danso for the Southern District Assembly of Birim, Alhbadan Abdallah Iddi for the Northeast District Gonja Assembly and Godwin Edudzi Effah for the Keta Municipal Assembly.

"In view of the above, Hon. Regional Ministers are kindly requested to contact the Regional Electoral Commission to complete the confirmation process for appointed executive heads. "
