President Akufo-Addo is welcomed by the people of Dagbon
President Akufo-Addo has arrived in the capital of the northern region, Tamale, in anticipation of the historic discovery of the new Ya Naa, Abubakari Mahama ll, tomorrow, as an overload of the traditional Dagbon district.
This follows the success of the traditional processes after his selection of Friday 18 January 2019 by kingdom makers.
An extended leadership dispute has left the skin vacant since 2002.
Yo-Naa Abubakari Mahama and then Savelugu Naa were among the four whose names were named as possible successors of the late Ya-Naa whose funeral was all celebrated.
His appointment is in keeping with the customs and traditions of succession to the Dagbon Kingship.
Upon arrival, President Akufo-Addo met with Northern Minister Salifu Saeed, Defense Minister Dominic Nitiwul, Interior Minister Ambrose Dery, the Minister of Defense, and the Minister of the Interior. Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, regional leaders and citizens of the traditional Dagbon region.
A new Ya Naa discovery ceremony is expected to attract traditional leaders, religious groups, civil society organizations, representatives of political and social groups and thousands of Dagbon residents.

Dozens of citizens from Dagbon gathered in the streets of Tamale to thank the president for his leadership in resolving the conflict.
