President Nana Akufo-Addo cut the foundations for the launch of the second phase of the Kumasi Central Market Rehabilitation Project and the provision of badociated infrastructure.

The president was speaking at the inauguration ceremony Thursday at Kejetia.
"The redevelopment of the Kumasi Central Market is a € 248 million project which is funded by Deutsche Bank of Germany, with an export credit guarantee provided by the UK Export Finance (UKEF)" , did he declare.
The project will be undertaken by UK-based Contracta Construction Ltd and will be completed within 48 months.
Once completed, the refurbished market will include 6,500 rented commercial spaces. 5,400 closed stores; 800 kiosks; 50 restaurants; 210 fishmongers and butchers; 40 livestock shops; and 1,800 square meters of community facilities.
