Following the appointment of Dr Yaw Adutwum as Minister-designate of Education, civil society groups including IMANI Africa and a few prominent journalists have visited various media to congratulate President Akufo-Addo on this appointment.

It comes after President Akufo-Addo submitted to Parliament for approval a list of names to be appointed as ministers in his new government.
The appointment saw new faces, including Ahanta West MP Kojo Kum who was assigned to the Ministry of Chiefdom and Religious Affairs, and Damongo MP Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, who was appointed to head the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
Some appointees who served as deputy ministers during Akufo-Addo’s first term also saw their portfolios elevated to ministers responsible for their respective ministries.
This includes Dr Yaw Adutwum who will succeed Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh as Minister of Education if Parliament checks him and approves his appointment.
