Akufo-Addo inspired me to become a lawyer

The Minister-designate of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, faced the Parliamentary Appointments Committee on Wednesday for its review.

Prior to his appointment as Minister-designate, Mr. Abu Jinapor was the Deputy Chief of Staff.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2006 and joined the University of Ghana in 2008 where he received a Bachelor of Laws in 2010.

Samuel Jinapor continued his LLB studies at the Ghana School of Law in Accra.

He also holds a Masters of Law in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Ghana Law School and was admitted to the Ghana Bar in 2012 as a Barrister and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Ghana.

Based on this rich experience in law, a member of the nominating committee asked Mr. Jinapor to recount his motivation for being a lawyer instead of pursuing physics.

Responding, lawyer Jinapor revealed the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo inspired him.

He said he had developed a strong taste for the law through his association with the president.

“ I strongly suspect that my association with then-President Nana Akufo-Addo, who was then Minister of Foreign Affairs and whom I had met very young and Mr. President, you can imagine that when you associate with the president Akufo-Addo; the law is becoming very attractive, ” he praised President Nana Addo.
