Two appointed ambbadadors accredited to Norway and Belgium were given letters of commission on Friday allowing them to preserve and promote the image and interests of Ghana at all times.

Harriet Sena Siaw-Boateng, who travels to Belgium, also serves as the Permanent Representative of Ghana to the European Union. Jennifer Lartey will represent the country's interests in the Scandinavian state of Norway.

The two men swore before the oaths of allegiance and secrecy administered by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during a short ceremony at the Jubilee House in Accra.

President Akufo-Addo congratulated the two men on their "well-deserved appointment", saying that they had been chosen with care and perfectly up to the task ahead.

He urged them to do everything in their power to protect and defend the image of Ghana, which held an important place in the courtesy of nations.

The President asked them to keep in mind that they represented a country considered to be one of the most stable on the continent, a beacon of democracy, governed by the rule of law and respect for individual freedoms. , human rights and principles of democratic law. responsibility.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to changing the country's economic paradigm and urged envoys to adapt their interventions, at all times, to the goal of building a Ghana Beyond Aid.

President Akufo-Addo urged them to strengthen the cooperation ties between Ghana and the respective countries for which they had been accredited, and to look for other areas of engagement that could benefit the peoples of the respective nations. .

It also urged them to strive to develop a cordial relationship with the Foreign Service Professional Officers in their service positions, as their valuable experience and knowledge would help them to work effectively.

He also asked them to establish good relations with Ghanaian nationals, who would be essential to their chances of success in their respective countries, noting: "They count and count on you to defend not only the interests of our country, but also theirs. ".
