Akufo Addo President Spe President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will appear before Parliament on February 21 to report on the true state of Ghana in her third State of the Nation Address (SONA) since taking office in January 2017.

Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensa Bonsu, announced the proposal to MPs on Tuesday after resuming work after a five-week suspension.

The speech was delivered in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which instructs the President to appear at the beginning of each session of Parliament to issue SONA.

Like her two previous interventions, Nana Akufo-Addo should discuss the progress made in each sector of the country's economy under her leadership over the past year.

The president, who said his government has spent the past two years consolidating the country's foundations, should also inform Ghanaians of what they will do to help the people start benefiting from it.

Following waves of crimes, including killings and kidnappings in the country, Nana Akufo-Addo should inform the population of the security measures put in place to protect lives and property.

RTI will be finished by March

He told our parliamentary correspondent Evelyn Tengmaa that the long-awaited bill would be pbaded in March, even before the House rose again in April.
