President Nana Akufo-Addo praised Professor Emeritus Joseph Hanson Kwabena Nketia at a pre-buried mbad on the forecourt of the National Residence in Accra on Saturday, May 4, 2019.
Speaking at the recent funeral rites of the famous Ghanaian ethnomusicologist, Akufo-Addo said the deceased professor was a true follower of the culture.
He said the late professor had dedicated his life to promoting arts and culture beyond Ghana.

The first lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, and former Konadu girl Agyemang Rawlings, dignitaries from all over the country, as well as their family and friends, were present at the ceremony prior to the burial.
Professor Nketiah is considered the greatest musicologist in Africa. He died at the age of 97 on March 13, 2019.
His funeral was marked by numerous Ghanaian cultural events, as well as performances by the Winneba Youth Choir and the Choir of the Immanuel Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Madina New Road, where he met .
Professor J. H. Nketiah was born on June 22, 1921 in Asante Mampong. He had over 200 publications and 80 musical compositions to his credit.
