State Council Member Sam Okudzeto called on Ghanaians to stop criticizing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s trips abroad and focus on the benefits these trips bring to the country.

“When he went to Germany, there were cries of joy. ‘Why is he traveling? Does he take these expansive planes? It costs so much per day. People don’t understand what diplomacy is. Diplomacy is an expensive process, but there are always advantages, ”said Mr. Okudzeto.

According to him, in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the massive attacks on President Akufo-Addo on the cost of his travel are not productive and are not helping the country.

“The president can’t sit there in the Jubilee House and think about all these [benefits] will just come to us. I do not think so [attacks] is productive and helps the country, ”he added.

He noted that presidents all over the world travel and with Nana Akufo-Addo, “he’s been invited by the people, so he has to go. We spend more time criticizing than sometimes looking at the benefit to us because we don’t even study the system.

Mr. Okudzeto said this in an interview with Kwesi Parker-Wilson of Accra-based Joy FM.

He said: “as a nation we can agree on some basic principles so that we all operate on that basis instead of these attacks”.

Mr Okudzeto’s comment comes after North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa revealed that Nana Akufo-Addo, during her last trip to the United States of America for the 6th session of the General Assembly of Nations United, chartered the same ultra-luxury aircraft it used in the UK and Germany – the Luxembourg luxury jet registered LX-DIO, operated by Global Jet Luxembourg.
