Togbe Keh XII, the division chief of Gbi Wegbe in the Volta region, said that the unprecedented development of Hohoe constituency by President Nana Akufo-Addo over the past four years was visible to all.
He said it was unnecessary to list all of the many massive development projects in the region, adding: “We in Hohoe in particular, and the municipality as a whole, have become beneficiaries so far.
Togbe Keh, speaking on behalf of the chiefs and inhabitants of the traditional areas of Gbi and Alavanyo during President Akufo-Addo’s tour of the Volta region, congratulated the president and his government for their commitment to the challenges Hohoe faces.
He said the development projects in Hohoe had led to a shift in the political narrative towards the color “Blue” and no longer “Green”.
“Your Excellency, the people of Hohoe, indeed, know what is good for them and there is no looking back on this great achievement,” he said.
Togbe Keh congratulated the president on his numerous visits to the region, making him the only sitting president to have visited Hohoe on several occasions.
He said his visits showed his love and great concern for the people of the constituency and the growing affinity between them through positive change.
Togbe Keh thanked the president for appointing and retaining a number of sons and daughters from the region in his government.
He said the notable among them was Mr. John Peter Amewu, Minister of Railway Development, adding; “The Honorable John Peter Amewu remains our game changer.”
The division head said that with the help of a few prominent citizens of the country, many educational and employment opportunities have been and continue to be created for the people of Hohoe, especially the young people.
He expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for his warm welcome from a delegation to officially announce the death of the late Supreme Leader Togbega Gabusu VI and the Supreme Queen Mother of Gbi and the subsequent dates of their funerals.
“We also remain grateful for all the donations you have made for the royal funeral of the Supreme Queen, Mamaga Dewotornyo I.”
However, Togbey Keh mentioned the Hohoe Water Expansion Project, designed since the 1970s, which was still on hold and called on the President to facilitate its execution to help provide water to Hohoe, Jasikan. and neighboring communities in the Oti region.
President Akufo-Addo said he had traveled to Hohoe to thank the people for their historic choice of an NPP parliamentary candidate, Mr. Amewu, to represent him, forming a bridgehead in the region of the Volta.
He said Mr. Amewu was an outstanding member of his government, who had proven to be a worthy son of the soil and holding the banner of communities high.
President Akufo-Addo pledged the government’s commitment to work on the water expansion project, which would produce 44,000 metric tons of water for communities.
