Alan Shearer highlights two great benefits of Liverpool over Manchester City

Liverpool and Manchester City are ready for a face-to-face battle for the Premier League title this season.

Alan Shearer worked on television during the FA Cup third round match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool in Molineux on January 7, 2019 in Wolverhampton, England.

Alan Shearer shared two big benefits that Liverpool has over Manchester City in the Premier League race this season, when he talks exclusively to the Sun.

The Reds are currently at the top of the pile, four points off the second, and they were just brilliant at looking at that term.

Liverpool has not won the world championship title since 1990, and his fans will desperately want their team to end this barren run, thus narrowing the gap with Manchester United, 20-time champion.

And Shearer believes this season could be their year.

The legend of Newcastle told the Sun how Liverpool had two key factors in his favor against Manchester City in the title race:

BBC specialist Alan Shearer was seen before the FA Cup second round matchup between Hartlepool United and Blyth Spartans at Victoria Park on December 5, 2014 in Hartlepool, England.

"Liverpool have the advantage of being able to make a mistake once, while City thinks they have to win every game, Liverpool must win the Premier League this year, they are out of national cups and have that advantage."

The race will probably go to the end, and since both teams have already played each other twice, it will depend a lot on their regularity against the smaller teams.

There is still plenty to do with 15 games to go, but Liverpool will not have a better chance of winning the title than they do this season, that's for sure.
