The imminent arrival of Nicolas Pepe at Arsenal seems equally exciting for all other Gooner who follow him on Instagram, while Alexandre Lacazette "liked" a message saying that the transfer is imminent.

The club of North London hopes to confirm the arrival of Pepe in the coming days to the tune of £ 72 million. The 24-year-old traveled to London for a medical appointment and a five-year personal contract.

Pepe scored 22 goals and 11 badists in a superb campaign last season for Lille, and Arsenal will pay only 20 million pounds in advance, the rest being spread over the next five years.

An agreement seems to be a virtual formality – Pepe is eager to work under Unai Emery – and some of the Arsenal players are already rolling out the red carpet.

Saliba, who also traded Ligue 1 for North London this summer but was immediately loaned to Saint-Etienne, did not waste time tracking his future teammate on Instagram.

Similarly, Granit Xhaka and Emile Smith Rowe liked a post on Instagram earlier in the week revealing the imminent arrival of Pepe at Arsenal. The team was obviously happy to see such a coveted player drawn to the UAE.

Arsenal had to overcome significant competition, especially from Naples, and Emery will be delighted to have finally landed a new winger, having also sued Wilfried Zaha of the Crystal Palace.

Pepe proved to be a better value – with Lille happy to accept less money in advance and the player demanding less pay than Zaha – though he still becomes Africa's most expensive player all the time.

Speaking about the rumors about Pepe earlier this week, Emery said, "The club is thinking about how we can improve. There are different players on the table. Pepe is a very good player. We only want players who can really, really improve the team. We want the best players possible for the first match in Newcastle. "
