The first minute of Bounedjah was winning
Algeria has been crowned champion of the Africa Cup of Nations only for the second time in its history, surpbading Senegal thanks to Baghdad Bounedjah's deviated goal.
After falling behind, Senegal dominated for the remainder of the match but failed to find a tying goal.
In the middle of the second period, it seemed that Senegal had found a lifeline after the referee Alioum Alioum had given a penalty for handball.
However, after being notified by the video badistant referee (VAR) to review the decision of the field control monitor, Alioum canceled his original decision.
It was even more heartbreaking for Senegal, which still has to win the biggest prize in African football.
