Representatives from the Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs visited NBSSI
The government's goal of accelerating national development has focused on the private sector, where public-private partnerships have been identified as one of the key means of achieving the government's development goal.
With this in mind, the Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (YEA) Ghana visited the National Council of Small Industries to learn about the council's working protocols.
The delegation led by the group president; On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, Mr. Abbey Richard met with NBSSI Executive Director, Kosi Antwiwaa Yankey, as well as some members of the Board of Directors.
Speaking at the meeting after a thorough introduction by the members of AYE Ghana present, the chairman outlined the group's goal, namely capacity building, access to funding , professional networking and business collaborations. Responding to the purpose of the visit, Mad. Philomena Gyan of NBSSI presented the role of the board of directors.
She outlined some of the board's key tasks, including capacity building for small businesses, support and advice to members, funding for registered members, and organizing trade shows, to name a few.
NBSSI, she said, has about 178 district offices and notices to businesses. However, the National Council for Small Industries (NBSSI) faces a major challenge, namely the repayment of subsidized loans. Because of this factor, BWHN is currently focused on support services.
Kosi Antwiwaa Yankey, Executive Director, said organizations should not criticize the government, but rather meet the appropriate offices to chew on the jaw.
Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs however is registered with the National Small Scale Council (NBSSI) following the meeting and is committed to engaging NBSSI on capacity building and granting loans at a reduced rate to its members.
The members of the Alliance present included Mr. Richard Abbey (President), Mr. Eric Ofori Aryeetey (Organizer), Mr. Alain Gbeasor, Mr. Albert Obidiaba and Nana Adwoa Sifa, Adu Armani and George Nyemi-tei.
