Older motherboards also support the new Ryzen 3000 with the latest BIOS, but in the 16 MB ROM, the new code made it too restrictive. As a result, MSI eased the BIOS as a lightweight version and had to restrict its functionality. Without compromise, thanks to 32 MB of BIOS memory, reprints of some cards are planned.
In reference to a blog post MSI had TechPowerUp has reported the necessary cuts in the BIOS thanks to the additional support of Ryzen 3000 (test). The new Click BIOS Lite is for support of Bristol Ridge family processors and omits graphics on the UI. But according to the report, support for SATA RAID should fall victim to cutting.
Unlike new X570 cards with 32 MB of BIOS memory, older models with 400 and 300 series chipsets use a 16 MB BIOS chip. The fact that the new Matisse support code means that Storage space is no longer sufficient elsewhere without restrictions was granted by MSI during a press event. The BIOS Lite is a workaround that should only be used if support for the new Ryzen 3000 is really needed.
In order to avoid any reduction in functionality, a larger BIOS memory must be created. MSI wants to provide them with new editions of some motherboards. A total of ten motherboards with X470, B450 and A320 are reissued according to the MSI standard in "Max" version with 32 MB of BIOS memory. When these will be available, but not yet known.

Other manufacturers are affected by the problem. The publisher's inquiries, which they are also considering a procedure similar to that of MSI, have so far remained without usable answers.
