Amasaman, a suburb of Ga West Municipal District in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, is under pressure, angry protesters, mostly women in red, blocking some of the main roads in the community.
Some of the traders whose structures were demolished were seen carrying their food in protest against what some consider to be "political move" demolition structures.
According to reports, their protest shows their dissatisfaction with the local badembly's decision to destroy parts of the market structures.
Some residents told reporters that chaos reigned in the area.
One of the victims who bought the store was razed, explained that the demolition exercise had been launched by the police at dawn today.
She added that the policemen were not only armed but also accompanied by their wild dogs to perform the demolition exercise.
Some of the victims claimed that the demolition exercise had been undertaken without notice.
"At the dawn of the market, we found that the police arrived with firearms and firearms withheld. Suddenly, she started demolishing some of our structures without any explanation. "
"I'm selling at a place on the side of the road, and we've been given a new location. I managed to obtain funds of a total of 500 cedis to buy cement to repair my place and let the police shoot down my structure. I do not understand the reason behind all this … We are all Ghanaians, some are NDC members, others are NPP, so why do that?
Thirty police officers reportedly arrived after the merchants blocked the road.
