Amazon and eBay are struggling with a legal dispute over online vendors.

A copy of the case provided by eBay to Business Insider alleged that its rival was engaged in a "racket activity" in order to "solicit several hundred eBay sellers for that they sell on the platform of". 39; Amazon ".

The July 31st filing alleges that Amazon officials specifically asked their employees to create eBay accounts and contact sellers using the site's M2M messaging system, escaping detection by spelling out portions of emails and using punctuation to hide phone numbers.

These officials are accused of having badigned "quotas" to recruit Amazon employees and told them to "target" eBay sellers who could "provide items in vogue or fill gaps in the range of products offered by Amazon ".

"This operation of the M2M system of eBay has been coordinated, targeted and designed to inflict damage on eBay," the file says.

The lawsuit specifically distinguishes three managers from Amazon. A previous trial that does not specifically charge these individuals with a criminal conspiracy is currently being arbitrated.

"Based on new details that have been brought to us, it is clear that Amazon's illegal scheme targeting sellers on eBay is more coordinated, systemic and ubiquitous than expected," a spokesperson told Business Insider d & # 39; eBay. "There are laws to protect against anti-competitive and illegal tactics, and we intend to hold society and certain leaders to account."

Amazon did not return Business Insider's comment request.
