Amazon Prime has confirmed that a new documentary series covering the 2018/19 roller coaster season of Borussia Dortmund will be published on August 9th.

The Bundesliga title was played until the last game of the season, but Bayern Munich finally got the best of BVB to win their seventh consecutive league title. The Bavarians struggled early in the campaign, allowing Dortmund to retain first place in the championship for most of the season, but Die Borussen did not hold on to the moment that mattered most.

The four-part mini-series should resemble those published in recent years after Manchester City (also on Amazon Prime) and Juventus (Netflix), offering fans an intimate look at the team throughout their campaign.

According to the Bundesliga's official website, award-winning director Aljoscha Pause is working on the production that should be distributed to all Amazon Prime subscribers in more than 200 countries in August. The film will focus on the 2018/19 campaign, as well as feature captain Marco Reus, midfielder Axel Witsel and manager Lucien Favre.

Dortmund chief executive Carsten Cramer was quoted as saying of the film: "Aljoscha Pause has once again demonstrated his incredible talent as a filmmaker and has not only managed to discreetly produce a fascinating glimpse of a football club's everyday life, but also to show BVB what it is.

Marco Reus

"Authentic in his raw emotions, sometimes cheery on the moon, sometimes bitterly disappointed, but always ready to bounce from one moment to the next."

The film aims to give an overview of the race to the title that the BVB has endured over the last 10 months. It will also include contributions from past leaders and players to provide insight into the club's culture.

Dortmund should face the Seattle Sounders (MLS) in his debut match for next season in mid-season, followed by a meeting with Liverpool in the United States a few days later.
