BERLIN (Reuters) – Amazon (the US online retail giant)AMZN.O) plans to open a new warehouse in Germany this year and create more than 2,800 indeterminate jobs in its second largest market after the United States.

This will bring the total workforce of Amazon in Germany to more than 20,000 on more than 35 sites by the end of 2019, the retailer said in a statement released Sunday.

He added that his 13th warehouse in Germany would be located in Moenchengladbach, in the west of the country.

Amazon is struggling with a long battle with the German unions to get better wages and conditions for logistics workers, who have organized many strikes since 2013.
