The Parliamentary Nominations Committee continues the fifth day of its ministerial selection process with candidates Ambrose Dery and Kwesi Amoako Atta.
Interior Minister-designate Ambrose Dery and Minister-designate for roads and highways Amoako Atta will appear on Tuesday February 16 before the committee chaired by First Vice President Joseph Osei Owusu.
The two appointees would retain their ministerial offices to assist President Akufo-Addo in his second term if they went through the verification process with flying colors.
The two ministerial candidates are accountable to the leadership of the Committee; Vice President Afenyo-Markin, Ranking Member Haruna Iddrisu and NPP and NDC Members of the Committee on the Challenges and Achievements of the Last Four Years in Power.
In addition, they will explain to the Committee the ambitions and objectives they hope to achieve in their respective ministries if they receive the request.
The verification process by the nominations committee is expected to end on March 9, 2021.
In the meantime, ten (10) ministerial appointments by President Akufo-Addo have faced the Nominations Commission so far.
The list of approved ministerial candidates includes the Minister-designate of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the Attorney General and Minister-designate of Justice, Godfred Dame, the Minister-designate of Energy, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Minister-designate of Communications and of the Ursula Owusu scan. -Ekuful and Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister designate for Foreign Affairs.
Designate Minister of Health Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, Designate Minister of National Security Albert Kan Dapaah, Designate Minister of Defense, Dominic Nitiwul, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Designate Minister of Education and Designate Minister of Local Government, decentralization and rural development, Dan Botwe also appeared before the committee.
