For many players, Pines 7 remains expensive and plans to buy a Ryzen 5 processor. At the same time as the old cheap table, there is no competition in terms of price / performance. Unfortunately, it is not possible to clock even on the X570 chipset.
Six kernels for players
The ideal number of kernels to play is eight, the more you do, the better. It's mainly Windows that is responsible for multiple threads, no matter which platform we are talking about. AMD's efforts to improve Windows schedulers, special drivers, and so on, have not made it easy. Windows always does what he wants.
In many applications, creators are already using kernels and there is progress, but that is not the case with games. Game developers are still behind. It is clear that parallel play is a big problem. The game is not a stack of processes that work side by side and can be broken down efficiently into cores, but a series of running operations difficult to split into multiple threads. And I do not expect big changes in the years to come. If you just want to play six or eight hearts long enough.
Six vs eight nuclei
If we ask ourselves if there are six or eight hearts, the answer is not so clear. Many will certainly answer, eight hearts are always better, but that's not true. At a test I did a year ago, we found that a fast six-core processor (Core i7-8086K) is more powerful in games than Ryzen 7 2700X. It does not always depend on the number of cores, but also on the frequency. The new generation of Ryzen 3000 has resulted in a 12% increase in CPI and frequency. On average, its power will be 20% higher than that of the previous generation. Thus, the six-core Ryzen 5 will easily reach the top in applications and games.
When choosing the components of the gaming machine and the Pines 7 costs you dearly and you do not want an older generation at a reduced price, the Ryzen 5 3600 and 3600X are an excellent choice. I will not reveal the conclusion at first, but the performance is excellent compared to Cofee Lake and at a price without competition. Ryzen 5 3600 is a brilliant processor for a solid and affordable gaming machine.. Of course, we will say more about it below in the article.
Just an old council
It is almost certain that you will not buy the expensive X570 motherboards at Ryzen 5. I guess the owners of the old six-core Ryzen 1000/2000 will prefer to switch to more cores than the same ones with superior performance 20%. Ryzen 5 customers will probably be more owners of AMD and Intel quads. So, if you buy a processor and a card, I'd like to focus on the B450 and X470 chipsets. I would ignore 300 Series chipset cards. It is possible that most manufacturers offer a BIOS that supports Ryzen 3000, but I would not bet on 100% support, after all, it's not a priority for the manufacturer, but they want to sell new cards.
Prices for X470 boards start at 3200 crowns. If you have enough equipment and B450, you will find ATX cards for 2100 CZK. The Asus Prime B450-Plus card will cost 2,400 crowns in the photo. You can choose from dozens of cards from all manufacturers. But with these platforms, keep in mind that the memory clock will be much worse than on X570 cards. However, the performance of the processor must be almost identical.
You can find comments at the end of the last chapter.
