Before tomorrow's presentation at E3, another Ryzen 3000 processor leaked. The Ryzen 9 3950X has 16 cores and a 4.7 GHz boost clock.
Ryzen 3000 but with 16 cores
During the presentation of Ryzen 3000 at Computex 2019, AMD confirmed for the first time to bet on more than eight cores. The Ryzen 9 3900X comes with 12 cores and a boost clock up to 4.6 GHz. Despite this strong increase, the confused murmurs among the reporters present were great because everyone expected 16-core behavior. AMD apparently saved this bomb. From the first day after the presentation, there was the first information that there was a 16-Kerner. From this, several landmarks are disclosed. At the current E3 2019, AMD has also scheduled a presentation. The Next Horizon game event is supposed to revolve around the new Radeon Navi series. But now there is also a leaflet that has leaked, which confirms that Ryzen 3000 comes with up to 16 hearts.
Ryzen 9 3950X with 16 cores, a 4.7 GHz clock and a 105 Watt TDP
Once again, Videocardz is responsible for this leak. On the one hand, the website received a slide presentation of the RX 5700 XT and, on the other hand, a presentation slide of the new Ryzen 3000 processor. The Ryzen 9 3950X is "the first game processor 16-core video, "according to the slide. The data sheet reads more than impressive. In addition to 16 cores and 32 threads, clock frequencies are also noted. Basically, 3950X frequencies at 3.5 GHz, in the Boost, the processor reaches 4.7 GHz. The cache is gigantic at 72 megabytes. All this AMD made according to the slide with a TDP of 105 watts. The catch remains of course the same thing with AM4.
With the new name, AMD comes into conflict, as a successor to the Threadripper 2950X will probably be called 3950X. However, this could also mean that the wire stripper series is now happening without 16-Kerner, since even the Ryzen 3000 with the Ryzen 9 3950X has a 16-Kerner. What's missing, it's an indication of the launch and a price. We will learn more about AMD's presentation tomorrow.
