The TV academy announced Tuesday that because AHS: Apocalypse contained "story lines, characters and actors with the same roles as the previous seasons" – especially the House of Murder, Coven and Hotel installments – it is being "reclbadified" from the limited series to dramatic series category.
The change also applies to season 2 of the USA Network program. The fisherman and season 2 of Netflix American Vandal.
The Academy is pleased to note that this "recategorization" is effective for the 2019 Emmy Awards only.
