AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli has been overwhelmed by rumors linking him to Manchester United.

It's no secret that the Red Devils are on the market for an upgrade to downtown and they should be back this summer after failing to sign a defender in January.

Kalidou Koulibaly is thought to be the first choice, but it has also been claimed that United have a list of other goals they will pursue if they fail to attract the star of Naples to Old Trafford.

The report indicates that Romagnoli is on this list, as well as Milan Skriniar of Inter and Harry Maguire of Leicester.

The former Roma man reacted to speculation linking him to a move to Juventus or Manchester United, reaffirming his happiness in Milan.

"I have not heard these rumors," he said at a Nike event.

"The transfer window is not open and I am very happy in Milan. I do not see the reason for changing clubs.

"It's an honor to be captain in Milan and these are rumors that I have not even heard of.

"I'm happy in Milan, I'm happy in Milan and as long as I'm happy, I want to stay here."

Romagnoli also admitted in October that he could have been transferred to England before signing a new agreement in San Siro.

"The renewal? A logical choice I'm fine with my teammates, with [Gennaro] Gattuso, with the fans. There were Premier League offers, but I feel at home here.
