A panicked aircrew went on the flight's speaker to ask if there were any doctors on board to help the fallen Griffith.

Pbadenger Andrea Bartz tweeted from the plane that the crew asked if there were doctors on board the plane.

Crew members and doctors on board tried to save Griffith for several hours.

SFO spokesman Doug Yakel confirmed that Griffith had a heart attack and that his "trained medical staff" had attempted to perform CPR.

The pbadengers were not informed of the heart attack and had simply been informed that an emergency had occurred.

After landing in San Francisco, pbadengers were held on the runway for nearly two hours waiting for the arrival of a coroner.

The coroner from San Mateo County then arrived on board and stated that Griffith had died.

Pbadengers were later informed of Griffith's death by intercom.

New flights have been booked for all flight pbadengers as Hawaiian Airlines does not operate SFOs at JFK.
