An Arizona man is killed by a shrapnel from a Takata airbag in a Honda Civic

Another driver died after being injured by the explosion of a Takata airbag, bringing to 24 the death toll in the world.

Takata inflators can explode with too much force, throwing shrapnel on drivers and pbadengers.

Nineteen auto and truck manufacturers recall up to 70 million inflators in the United States and 100 million worldwide. Deaths have occurred since May 2009:

– 11 June 2018: Armando V. Ortega, 55, of Yuma, was killed three days after the accident of a 2002 Honda Civic near Buckeye, Arizona.

– May 27, 2009: Ashley Parham, 18, Midwest City, Oklahoma, Honda Accord 2001

– December 24, 2009: Gurjit Rathore, 33, of Richmond, VA, 2001 Honda Accord

– 13 September 2013: Hai Ming Xu, from Alhambra, California, 2002 Acura TL

– 27 July 2014: Suk Leh Law of Sibu, Malaysia, 2003 Honda City

– 7 September 2014: Jewel Brangman, 26, from California, 2001 Honda Civic

– 29 September 2014: Hien Thi Tran, 51, Orlando, Florida, 2001 Honda Accord

– 18 January 2015: Carlos Solis, 35, Spring, Texas, 2002 Honda Accord

– 15 April 2015: Kylan Langlinais, 23, Lafayette, Louisiana, 2005 Honda Accord

– 22 July 2015: 13-year-old unidentified boy, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, 2001 Honda Accord

– December 22, 2015: Joel Knight, 52, from Kershaw, South Carolina, 2006 Ford Ranger

– 31st March 2016: Huma Hanif, 17, Fort Bend County, Texas, 2002 Honda Civic

– 16 April 2016: Unidentified Person, State of Sabah, Malaysia, 2006 Honda City. The inflator is broken, no cause of death has been determined.

– May 1, 2016: Unidentified person, Malaysia, 2003 Honda City. The inflator is broken, no cause of death has been determined.

– June 2016: Unidentified person in Malaysia. The inflator is broken, no cause of death has been determined.

-June 19, 2016: Ramon Kuffo, 81, Hialeah, Florida. The inflator broke up while he was repairing the inside of the car.

– 30 September 2016: Delia Robles, 50, from Corona, California, 2001 Honda Civic.

– 10th of July 2017: George R. Sharp, 61, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 2004 Honda Civic.

– 13th of July 2017: Unidentified 58-year-old man in the suburbs of Sydney, 2007 Honda CR-V.

– 19 July 2017: Nichol Lynn Barker, 34, from Holiday, Florida, 2002 Honda Accord.

– 1st January 2018: Unidentified driver in the central state of Selangor, Malaysia, 2004 Honda City.

– May 27, 2018: Unidentified driver in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2004 Honda City.
