Suspects Kwabena Adjei, Felix Amuh and Samuel Paa T. Nii Aryee Okai
The three elderly men who were seized by airport police for allegedly breaking into parked cars and stealing valuables were released on bail by an Accra circuit court.
The accused – Kwabena Adjei, 57 years old; Félix Amuh, 53 years old; and Samuel Paa T. Nii Aryee Okai, 61 – were awarded 20,000 GH ¢ each with two bonds each by the court chaired by Ruby Naa Ajeley Ayertey.
When they appeared in court Wednesday, the three men all pleaded not guilty to three counts of conspiracy that caused damage and theft. They still have to appear in court on August 15th.
The Airport District Police Command has apprehended the three men who belong to a union that has infiltrated parked cars and stolen valuables.
According to the police, the three men were operating in areas such as the Nyaho Clinic, the airport and East Legon for seven months.

DSP Alex Kwesi Kwarteng, DSP Alex Kwesi Kwarteng, said some of the "operations" of the suspects were captured with a closed-circuit camera, which allowed the police to locate them.
He said that on June 16, around 3 pm, the three suspects broke into a Mitsubishi vehicle parked at Olando Street, East Legon.
"They broke into the car and stole two bags containing $ 800, a laptop and other valuable documents belonging to the victim.The case was immediately reported to the police so that investigations are carried out, "he said.
He said that a CCTV camera had captured the suspects who were entering the victim's car.
The criminal officer said the suspects, using a Chevrolet Malibu black car, were heading in the opposite direction to the victim and parked just ahead.
He said that Amuh then went out first and pretended to attend the call of nature. He inspected the whole area before Kwabena Adjei and Samuel Paa T. also got out of the car.
The officer said that two of the men, using something alleged to be a stone, broke the window on the driver's side to open the door of the car.
"The two men then took the bags and went straight to their vehicle and sped at full speed," he said.
DSP Kwarteng said at the reception of the video of their identity that the three men were placed on the watch list of the police, which led them to their arrest Tuesday around 5 am, in their various hiding places in Tantra Hill and Amasaman.
