Efforts to adopt a controversial new extradition law in Hong Kong have been suspended for an indefinite period, announced Saturday its leader, Carrie Lam. This decision followed a week of mbad demonstrations and violence on the street about the bill, which would have sent suspects to mainland China for trial.
