NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia – A new friendship between a Newport News cop and a boy continues to flourish.

This time, officer E. Beganovic surprised Jeremiah, an elementary school student, and his clbadmates with a lunch prepared by a caterer.

The Newport News Police Department shared this moment on his Facebook page.

On Easter Sunday, Constable Beganovic and his partner were on patrol when Jeremy brought them dinner.

Dinner included macaroni and cheese, chicken, ham, lima beans and rice. Beganovic shared the act of kindness made at random by Jeremy on Facebook. They have received more than 4,000 views and hundreds of likes from people across the country.

Constable Beganovic said that Jeremiah's actions showed how positive the community-based policing department of the police department was.

Beganovic went to Jeremiah's clbadroom Friday to say "thank you" with a meal prepared by Chick-Fil-A.

He also gave a thank you card and a gift to Jeremiah's mother – that was his way of thanking her for "raising a young man so thoughtful and considerate".

Jeremiah told Beganovic that he had organized dinner with the officers because his mother had told him: "When you do good things for other people … good things will come back and you will arrive "
