Two underwater search operations were launched to attempt to uncover debris from the missing aircraft of Emiliano Sala.

Sala was traveling from Nantes to Cardiff when the private jet disappeared almost two weeks ago.

The £ 15 million striker was alongside pilot Dave Ibbotson. The Guernsey police decided to cancel the search after four days.

The British Air Accident Investigation Division conducts an official search alongside a second underwater private search.

David Mearns, a renowned sinking fighter, conducts private research aboard the research vessel Morven, which was launched around 7 am on Sunday morning.

Seat covers likely to come from the plane were found on a French beach last week and it is now possible to discover the wreckage.

"The aircraft is clearly down, which implies a significant impact on the surface of the water, so we know we're looking for a broken plane and a debris field," said Mearns.

"Two by two is a small enough pocket of water, so we should be able to count on our trust to get her.

"It does not matter who finds it. That's what he found.

The specialized boat operated by the world-wide A-2-Sea marine cable installation company is equipped with the latest technologies.

It includes a multibeam sounder and side scan sonar, capable of detecting anomalies on the seabed.

AAIB identified a sea area where the aircraft was last detected on radar, about 24 miles north of Guernsey.

Cardiff paid an emotional tribute to Sala during his victory against Bournemouth on Saturday.

The two captains laid flowers before the kickoff and Bobby Reid of Cardiff raised a shirt in the air after scoring.

Manager Neil Warnock was also reduced to full-time tears and said his players had made Sala proud.

"Knowing the boy, Emiliano, like me, I knew he would be with us today," he said.

"I told the guys," We have to play. "I thought the whole club was amazing.
