Context
Ghana has witnessed security problems in recent months, a situation that has caused much concern among the population.
In late December of last year, three girls from Takoradi, in the western region, were abducted by strangers.
The police still have not found their whereabouts.
Two people, including a pastor and a worker from the port of Tema, were also murdered.
The recent by-election in Ayawaso West Wuogon was also marked by acts of violence, some shot and wounded.
Professor Frimpong-Mansa said that these problems should be solved immediately, otherwise its effect would overwhelm the country.
"Ghana has always been a peaceful country and these recent security problems do not speak well of the country and its leaders," he said.
At the partial election of Ayawaso West Wuogon, Professor Frimpong-Manso asked leaders of political parties, especially the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of the United States. ban all self-defense groups within their parties.
"These self-defense groups must be stopped now, otherwise Ghana will pay some day for their actions," he said.
Other issues
Professor Frimpong-Manso also spoke of the need to pay particular attention to the country's sanitation, indicating that the nature of sanitation in Ghana "does not speak well of the population".
