Anas frustrated to open an investigation into the killing of Hussein-Suale following a police appeal

Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas said he was frustrated by the apathy shown by the police during the investigation into the badbadination of the late Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

According to him, the police have made little progress in the murder case, adding that she had developed cold feet.

He said he was forced to start his own investigations because he was not satisfied with the work done by the police.

Anas made this statement by addressing the International Press Institute (IPA).

"we [everyone involved in the investigation] were all targets – and we are still targets, "he said.

"Ahmed was a target because of the football investigation, I'm not surprised, judging by the power of football and its political implications.There is some degree of apathy within the police – people are not strong enough"

Ahmed Hussein-Suale, who was part of Anas' PI team, was found dead in his car on January 16, 2019.

The clandestine journalist was shot dead by unknown badailants as he was returning home, the daily reported.

He was shot three times, twice in the chest and one on the neck by armed men on motorbikes around Madina.

Anas described the treatment of the murder case as a "power game," insisting that he suspects of people working to ensure that Ahmed's killers are not found.

"We do not find a solution to the murder. It's a power game. People in football are very rich people (and) there are powerful sources that prevent to find the killer," he said.

Anas added, "Ahmed is dead and we continue to tell powerful stories, which testifies to the fact that Ghana will definitely remain the beacon of democracy, people have a strong will, people are defying the government, democracy."

"Out of the pain of his death, we are motivated to leave a lasting impression on his memory and to tell things as they are.We are not at all discouraged.We are confident.We are able to do more than what we usually do. "
