Baron Nyarko, a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) communication team, mocked investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas for coaching two media organizations and members of the media. staff for "ridiculing his reputation".
According to him, he expected Mr. Aremeyaw Anas to be the last person to consider such a lawsuit when "everything he does in his works subjects the hard-earned reputation of people to ridicule" .
"And the effect of this ridicule is not only felt in Ghana, but around the world. Just look at Kwesi Nyantakyi, where he came into life and what happened to him after the number 12, "he added.
Anas Aremeyaw Anas filed a lawsuit against Multimedia and despite the group of companies and some staff members for tarnishing his image by his remarks broadcast on the air.
In the writ of summons, "the reputation of the Applicant, in particular as a world-renowned lawyer and investigative journalist, has been severely damaged and is experiencing debilitating distress and embarrbadment".
Mr. Nyarko described the lawsuit as ridiculous: "Anas and his investigator, Tiger Eye PI, have, over the years, exposed during their investigations to expose some members of society to a ridiculous ridicule.
He claims that some have also been left behind because they have been able to give the public the impression that they are helping to rid the country of corruption.
"I wonder if Anas and his PI Tiger Eye will have peace of mind if all those who have been captured in their many shows bring them to justice. In fact, I beg all those who have been captured by Anas to bring him to justice as well, "he hinted.
In an interview with Connect FM, a Takoradi-based radio station, Nyarko says Anas's recent work on Galamsey seems to be aimed at "destroying the image of the executive secretary of the Interministerial Committee on Energy." 39, illegal mining, Charles Bissue and other people working to solve the illegal mining plague ".
"It is common knowledge that before starting his work with Anas, there is always one or two promotions. But in this recent, he promoted the work in the afternoon and showed the video the next day and I think it's strange, "he said.
Mr. Nyarko said that Anas' work had rather provoked anger, resentment and disaffection instead of provoking a change.
He concluded: "In the past, when Anas published a video, you realize that the conviction is final. But now it is not the case. People start asking questions and really did not pay the attention he initially liked. "
