Andy Robertson will miss the qualifications of Scotland for Euro 2020

Scottish captain Andy Robertson was dismissed from his country's next qualifying match for Euro 2020 against Kazakhstan.

Alex McLeish's team will face his opponents on Thursday night, and although Robertson met his teammates in Glasgow, he was advised not to travel to Kazakhstan.

That's because he needs a dental operation – one of the darker reasons why a footballer misses a game.

Robertson could still face San Marino Sunday night, however, depending on how quickly he will recover.

The 25-year-old showed a typically relentless performance in Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, while returning to the top of the Premier League.

He provided constant energy on the left flank as the Reds defeated Fulham 2-1 in a tight match at Craven Cottage.

Kieran Tierney of Celtic should start in the left-back in Robertson's absence.

Scotland also have to go without Jordan Archer, Barry Bannan and Charlie Mulgrew, all of whom pulled out of the group due to injury.
